Is it that we haven’t devoted much effort to studying the history of social change and how it applies to our situation? Is it that we’re too addicted to a relatively comfortable existence? Is it that the media is extremely effective at limiting our understanding of the problems and our vision for the future? Is it that we’re divided along lines of race, gender, religion? Is it that we’ve become so used to public bodies and corporations running our lives, we just don’t have much initiative?”
